Age restriction
The London School of Beauty and Make-up is a mature training environment and
therefore we cannot accept students under the age of 18 years. Unfortunately,
we cannot make exceptions to this policy.
Enrolment
We recommend that you find out as much as possible about a course before
enrolling. This may be achieved by communicating with our Enrolments Team (by
telephone, letter, fax or email) or by having an informal ‘interview’. It is your
responsibility to ensure that you have received satisfactory information.
Punctuality and Attendance
It is very important that students maintain good time keeping and attendance
whilst training, as would be expected in the industry.Teachers cannot be held
responsible for information missed due to lateness or absence and cannot go
back over subject matter already covered for individual students. Continued
lateness will result in disciplinary action and will eventually lead to your
expulsion from the course. Short and occasional periods of genuine sickness are
the only acceptable reason for absence, however, prolonged or regular sickness
will prevent you from completing your course satisfactorily. Some awarding
bodies will not allow you to sit their examination if you have not achieved the
correct level of attendance.
Disciplinary Procedures
In order to maintain a professional working environment,The London School
of Beauty & Make-up has rules and regulations which must be adhered to at all
times by all students. Failure to comply to these rules will result in disciplinary
action and continued disruptive behaviour will eventually lead to expulsion
form the school. Details of the disciplinary procedures can be found in our
centre policy guidelines, a copy of which is given to each student at the
commencement of their course.
Course fees
All course fees must be paid in full no less than 30 days before your course
commencement date.We regret that once paid, deposits for the courses cannot
be refunded under any circumstances except in the unlikely event that the
course is cancelled by the school. If you have to cancel your enrolment for any
reason within 30 days prior to the commencement date, you will also lose any
other payments made. If you have to leave your course for any reason, you will
not be entitled to a full or part refund of fees paid, nor will you be entitled to an
alternative course.
Dress Code
All students must adhere to the dress code whilst on school premises.
Individual religious requirements must be discussed and agreed before
application. Uniforms must not be worn on the street.Where appropriate,
uniforms are supplied and additional uniforms may be purchased if required.
Students will need to provide their own salon shoes where appropriate. Shoes
must be plain white, with a low heel and an enclosed toe. Sandals / trainers /
sneakers / canvas shoes / plimsolls / coloured logos or branding are not
allowed. All jewellery (including facial) with the exception of plain wedding
bands and small stud earrings must be removed. We recommend that all
valuables are left at home to avoid loss. Mobile phones are not allowed in the
classrooms or the student salon.
Student Salon
Performing treatments in a realistic environment is an essential part of the
training on all of our beauty courses. Our student salon exists to provide you,
the student, the opportunity to gain valuable experience and confidence before
you enter the industry to start work. The salon is open five days per week with
extended opening hours to allow easy access for clients. Each tutor group runs
the salon on a fair rota basis, including the late nights using staggered shifts.
Students are required to perform treatments as needed to meet the clients’
demands and must share the responsibility of encouraging clients to come for
treatments to facilitate the assessment process.Time missed from salon
sessions must be ‘made up’ to the satisfaction of your teachers.
