When you think of beauty therapy courses, skincare and make up perhaps spring to mind, but did you know that age-proofing your hair is just as important?
Healthy tresses are hugely important for self esteem, but one expert has told Stylist magazine that a woman's pride and joy can go from lustrous to limp overnight.
Glenn Lyons, who has worked with leading trichologist Phillip Kingsley for 45 years, told the magazine that hair ages in extended cycles rather than bit by bit.
"Usually we don't worry about our hair till we spot an outbreak of grey or notice it looking a bit dull," he said.
"These things creep up on you quite suddenly," Mr Lyons continued.
So women on beauty therapy courses perhaps need to start thinking about anti-ageing their hair while it still retains its youthful shine.
Cheryl Cole is one celebrity whose hair always looks healthy and has therefore sparked plenty of trends, as Jules Holland, creative director at Mark Hill Salon, recently pointed out.
