Women signing up to beauty courses have been advised eye shadow should be applied to the brow bone, rather than in an area where the product may be lost in creases.
The Observer's Eva Wiseman stated this is the on-trend way to apply the beauty product, pointing out a bright shade needs to be chosen in order to stand out, while a matte hue was also recommended by the beauty expert.
She said the ring finger has to be used in order to apply eye shadow in the correct manner "in a shade you might find in a nursery school's soft-play area".
Ms Wiseman said colours that are good for eye shadow at the moment include reddish pink and purples, while females should look to team the product up with a sheer pink lip gloss.
Recently, tips featured on website Bold Sky included selecting a vibrant hue that is flattering for the complexion when choosing eye shadow.
