Beauty therapy news: Botox 'could be ageing if had too early'
Beauty therapy news: Botox 'could be ageing if had too early' Those in beauty training have been told that people who have botox too soon could find that the treatment actually makes them look older.

This is according to Dr Darren McKeown, a cosmetic specialist, who told the Daily Telegraph that children and teenagers should not be given the treatment.

He talked about the trend for teenage botox, referring to it as a "worrying trend" and pointed out that botox may not work as a preventative measure in the long term.

"... Starting Botox treatments at an early age ultimately could do more harm to your looks than good," he added.

Dr McKeown said that those who use the treatment too much over a long period could experience atrophy of the muscles, particularly around their eyes, making this area look older.

He did, however, tell beauty therapy students that the treatment can be useful if people use it once they reach a stage where they can spot wrinkles on their face while it is at rest.

Indeed, a number of celebrities, including Nicole Kidman and Jenny McCarthy, have admitted to using the treatment to slow down the ageing process.ADNFCR-2992-ID-800561102-ADNFCR
