Beauty therapy students: Try voluminous hair
Beauty therapy students: Try voluminous hair Voluminous hair has been described as being endlessly appealing, those on beauty therapy courses have been told.

Joanna McGarry, Stylist's beauty director, said that this style makes women look glamorous.

She referenced a number of celebrities, including Sarah Jessica Parker and Cheryl Cole, who have recently opted for the style.

Cole attended an audition for the US version of the X Factor with backcombed hair that was waved at the bottom. Cole also wore an orange top and purple flared trousers.

In addition, McGarry pointed out that it's also popular on the catwalks, with Giles Deacon and Julien MacDonald models all wearing the 'do.

However, she cautioned that "it is worth remembering that the higher you go, the more inches you compromise on length".

She told beauty therapy students that a good way to create the style is to cover damp hair with mousse and then use a large barrel brush while blow drying it.

After this ladies should take large sections of hair and tong them, before using a fine-tooth comb to backcomb the hair.

She also said that texture can be added to the look with Bumble & Bumble Does It All Styling Spray.
