The Daily Mail spoke to Barbara Daly, who worked her magic on Princess Diana on her wedding day. Ms Daly recommended treating brides to translucent face powder so that they do not appear shiny in photographs taken on the big day. She recommended trying MAC Prep and Prime Transparent Finishing Powder.

In addition, the beauty guru said that blusher is an "essential" product for brides to use, with L'Oreal Paris True Match Blusher in 115 True Rose being a particularly wise choice.

Ms Daly also advised beauty therapy students to choose make-up for brides that will not appear dated when they look back over their wedding pictures in years to come.

Furthermore, Stephanie Fell, the owner of a top US-cosmetics studio, told Metro Spirit that make-up artists should use foundation on a bride's face that matches their natural skin tone.
