Beauty school students will be interested to learn that a craze for bum lifts sweeping stateside is set to hit Britain.
According to Glamour.com, as part of the procedure fat is injected into client's bum cheeks after being taken from areas of the body which clients wish to slim down.
The Miami Thong Lift procedure may not be long lasting, as fat cells will gradually die post-transfer. Clients will also have to be a size 14 plus so that there is sufficient fat to extract.
Those seeking a shapelier derriere could previously opt for silicone implants, but they could become infected and have to be removed, according to The Times of India.
Constantino Mendieta's procedure is gaining in popularity, as it offers no visible scars and the client will not reject the implants as they are from their own body.
According to the NHS, over 34,000 cosmetic surgery procedures were conducted in 2008 in the UK, a 31 per cent increase on 2003's figures.
