Makeup school hopefuls may be interested to hear that "red lipstick says glamour", according to movie star Catherine Zeta Jones.
Speaking to StyleList UK, Zeta Jones admitted that wearing the bold shade gives her confidence and a set of red lips epitomises her idea of true movie stars something that she shares with her father-in-law Kirk Douglas.
For the actress who made her mark with her roles in the Mask of Zorro and Chicago, red lipstick is important and is symbolic in the relationship a woman has with her perception of beauty and her own confidence.
As an official spokesperson for Elizabeth Arden, who famously handed out crimson lipstick to the suffragettes, it is no surprise that Zeta Jones believes lipstick empowers women, uplifting them and making them feel good.
The actress is not the only star to show off a red pout, as at this year's London Fashion Week statement lips were everywhere.
Meanwhile, Claire Danes and Audrey Tatou graced the BAFTAs with full on red lips, reported Elle magazine.
