Makeup school students will have to work with models of all colours and skin tones, but it can be difficult to find the right shade for different complexions.
Beauty expert Jemma Kidd has highlighted certain shades which work better for black and Asian skin tones that makeup school students may want to take note of.
Writing in her column for the Daily Mail, Ms Kidd said that black skin tends to have olive or cool red undertones, while Asian complexions usually have a deep yellow tinge.
Makeup school students should therefore be looking for a yellow-toned foundation for olive skins, a red base for those crimson undertones and a warm yellow base for Asian skins, according to the expert.
Ms Kidd recommended Bare Escentuals bareMinerals SPF15 and Clinique Superfit Makeup Oil-Free Foundation as good products for black and Asian skins.
Meanwhile, Jessica Prince, editorial assistant at Allure magazine, has suggested that tinted moisturiser is a great product for winter, which may be a tip that makeup school students want to take note of.
