Cockermouth beauticians up for salon of the year
Cockermouth beauticians up for salon of the year Individuals undertaking makeup artistry courses may be interested to hear how a salon in Cockermouth is up for a prestigious award.

Pure Touch has been short-listed for Beauty Salon of the Year along with three other finalists, the Times & Star reports.

The holistic treatment centre has been nominated in the three rooms or fewer category by the Professional Beauty Awards, which will be held in London in March.

Owner Claire Watson explained how she and her staff had to submit four essay-type answers about the salon's philosophy and marketing strategy in order to be considered.

"We are still in shock because compared to the other salons, which are all from chains and have had a lot more investment, we're a small salon," Ms Watson stated, adding the accolade carried the highest honour in the industry.

Other nominees in the category include Hertfordshire's Skin & Tonic and Epitome Health & Beauty, as well as The Potting Shed Spa in Bradford.ADNFCR-2992-ID-801248743-ADNFCR
