Daphne Guinness has been chosen as the new face of the Nars makeup collection, fashion and media makeup course students have been told.
The extraordinary heiress, with a fashion taste to rival Lady Gaga's, who is also rumoured to be the late Alexander McQueen's muse, will become the beauty label's ambassador.
Francois Nars explained to those on fashion and media makeup courses, who will no doubt be aware of Guinness's style, that the choice was not a difficult one, as the model is perfect for the role in many ways.
"She fits the image of the brand so well. She's very creative and elegant and is a chameleon. And she really loves make-up - the whole process of it. Any makeup artist dreams of having someone like that as a muse," he said.
Mr Nars has also designed a new purple eyeshadow for the collection, which was inspired by Guinness and named after her, a colour which fashion and media makeup course students may wish to test out.
