Individuals learning makeup artistry may be interested to hear how achieving a flawless complexion may be easier if ladies adapt their diet.
Speaking to expertbeauty.com, consultant dermatologist at Hove Skin Clinic Dr Bav Shergill explained how certain food and drink can adversely affect a person's appearance.
For example, it was noted alcohol causes dehydration and causes blood vessels in the skin to dilate, giving skin a blotchy look.
Those who suffer from rosacea and seborrhoeic dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis will find these conditions are often made worse if alcohol or caffeine is consumed, Dr Shergill remarked.
However, increasing the intake of vitamin C and zinc was recommended for skin healing and boosting immune systems.
"A healthy diet comprised of all recommended vitamins and minerals will improve skin and hair quality," Dr Shergill stated.
The comments follow skin therapist and founder of Uandyourskin.co.uk Louise Thomas-Minns recent remarks about the importance of moisturising no matter what skin type people have.
