Dark smoky eyes are set to be a key trend in 2012, news which may be of interest to those undertaking beauty courses.
According to freelance beauty editor of Kissandmakeup.tv Zara Stone Rabinowicz, the look will be popular all-year round with the style lasting throughout summer and winter.
"Eyeliner is going to be black and bold once more, with feline stripes replaced by heavy kohl and smoky eyes and chubby pencils will be more popular than liquid eyeliner," she commented.
Other popular products will be blemish balms and elaborate nail art, Ms Rabinowicz remarked, explaining magnetised and metallic nail shades will be a key trend with many ladies.
The move towards blemish balms will come as women look to increase their skincare routine through cosmetics that include sun protection and enriching properties.
Metallic "party nails" were recently highlighted as this season's must-have look by Daily Telegraph writer Kate Shapland, who noted they were proving popular at catwalk shows.
