Highly-polished creations to be taught at make up school in 2010? Highly-polished and refined looks could be among the styles being studied by those at make up school this year, if the latest catwalk shows are anything to go by.

Christian Dior's spring/summer 2010 show saw models with dressier, more hard-working make up, leading the Daily Telegraph's Kate Shapland to identify this as a trend for the coming year.

Make up artists combined a porcelain finish to the complexion with a dark red lip and lilac eyes for the Dior models, which, combined with their sculpted waves, made for a classically beautiful look.

Ms Shapland suggested that creating such a finish will not require more make up, but will demand that much more from cosmetics.

So, gloss will be replaced by lipstick and highlighter will be forsaken in favour of foundation for that pristine finish.

It seems that high-end is going to be the theme for this year as a host of prestige brands are preparing to enter the mass market, according to a report by WWD.com.
