With many of us making cutbacks in many areas at the moment, it can also be a good idea to start budgeting when it comes to beauty.
Ladies who want to learn make-up techniques without breaking the bank may want to take some tips from Carmindy Bowyer, a make-up artist on the television show What Not to Wear, who offered some advice to the Huffington Post.
Ms Bowyer said that people can make some of the products that they have last longer by running hot water over mascara for around five minutes if it's dried out so that it is reliquefied, for example.
She added that powder blush or eyeshadows that are dropped and broken can simply be tipped into a plastic container and crushed a little to create a loose powder.
In addition, the make-up artist wrote for Carmindy.com that ladies can make their lips look lovely by applying lipstick before adding foundation to a concealer brush and applying this to the lip line.
