As ladies on beauty courses will know, there are loads of concealers available, so just how do people pick the right one? Luckily, advice has been offered by beauty guru Sali Hughes, who wrote for the Guardian that this item is probably the most crucial one for ladies to keep in their make-up bags. She said that the best concealers are creamy, dense and a single shade lighter than a client’s natural skin colour. According to Ms Hughes, if the concealer is lighter than this imperfections will look more obvious and if it is darker it will not hide blemishes. She recommended applying the product with a small brush. "I apply concealer either alone or after tinted moisturiser or foundation – never before,” she added. Ms Hughes recommended that ladies try Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, which she said can be teamed with a matching powder, as well as Stila Cover Up Stick, a product that comes in yellow-based shades. In addition, Marie Claire magazine also suggested that those looking for a concealer try L’Oreal Touche Magique Concealer.
