Students on beauty courses have been offered some tips on how to keep a fake tan glowing and streak free.
Wendy Lewis, founder and editor in chief of Beauty In The Bag, explained the trick is to make sure the skin is properly prepped beforehand and to build up the fake tan gradually.
"To avoid build up, bronzers work nicely for face, legs, decollete in between self tan treatments," she advised those looking to learn make up.
Ms Lewis also pointed towards the trend for moisturisers containing just a hint of fake tan, suggesting Jergens Natural Glow and Clinique Self Sun Body Tinted Lotion, and explained these will "entirely" prevent a bright orange glow.
For those who want to use the fake tanning products which provide a bronzed look almost immediately, she advised steering clear of products with a high concentration of DHA.
The comments come after research from Debenhams suggested sales of fake tan soared on the back of Kate Middleton's bronzed glow at the royal wedding, with sales increasing by 219 percent on April 29th 2011, compared to the same day last year.
