Concealer is a product that can make or break a look if the shade is not right, as many make up schoolstudents will know.
However according to an expert there are ways to ensure you find the right shade that blends perfectly, and it starts with considering both consistency and colour.
Julyne Derrick, writing for About Beauty, recommended yellow-toned products for under-eye circles, and orange-based tones are best for darker skin, but one things make up schoolstudents should ensure they do is to go two shades lighter than foundation.
"If you go too light, you risk looking like a raccoon. Just like you will foundation, you may need a lighter concealer shade in winter than you would in summer," she said.
Ms Derrick also said that concealer is a 'test before you buy' product and would not recommend buying anything that is non-returnable.
IVillage beauty and style blog recently listed Dermablend as its top concealer, followed by Prescriptives Camouflage Cream.
