students looking to create the perfect look that emphasises eyes should start with a kohl eyeliner, according to an expert.

Liz Pugh, a celebrity make-up artist who has worked with Thandie Newton, Rachel Weisz and Keira Knightly gave the tips during a question and answer session on Rimmel's website, which could be useful for make-up schoolstudents.

"Always wipe your pencil first to soften up the tip. Gently pull down the rim of the eye and draw along. Simple," she said.

She went on to suggest attempting a line drawn on the inner top lid, which is great for a smokey eye look and on trend for this season, as seen at Louis Vuitton and on Amy Winehouse.

Stylist magazine recently recommended Givenchy's Phenomen' Eyes for make-up schoolstudents looking to create a natural look, whereas Yves Saint Laurent's Singulier was recommended for winter months.
