Smokey, emerald green eyes are one of the hottest trends at the moment and could be a key area for those at make up schoolto learn, an expert has suggested.
Emma Smith, writing for Stylist, has highlighted the fact that it is important for the beauty treatment to anchor the natural green eye colour and to temper this with darker shades.
She suggested applying plums, violets and indigos to achieve this effect, with the latter shade being applied as a base colour on the lids before a deeper burgundy is added to the crease.
[This builds] up a hazy, smokey look. Blend a lighter shade into corners for a 3D effect," she advises.
Ms Smith added that those at make up schoolcould use a wet brush with the eyeshadow to sweep alongside the bottom lashes.
This would play into the trend for smokey eyes most-recently displayed by Ashley Greene's shoot for the cover of Seventeen, which professional make-up artist Francesca Tolot then replicated for the Twilight star's appearance at the Young Hollywood Awards.
