There has been a recent influx of the colour purple, with many a celeb strutting down the red carpet with lilac eyes, but according to beauty expert Zara Rabinowicz, the knack is what the shade is mixed with.
She explained that while darker shades can get away with brighter shades, fairer skins need lilacs and mauves, otherwise the look may border more on the Pat Butcher side rather than Rihanna.
"Mix a little purple with black on the eye, for a sexy smoky look with an edge. Make sure you use a good under eye concealer, as if that area is red it can make the eyes look a little swollen - Garnier caffeine roll-on gives great coverage instantly," she recommended to those in make up training.
She also urged make up schooltrainees to take it one step further than Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus' looks, and dabble with purple mascara, suggesting Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara in Purple Haze.
