Women are more in-the-know about their makeup choices and what products they like than ever before, according to a top beauty expert.
Beth Zurn, vice president of education and special events for Estee Lauder in New York, told Kansas City that today the customer is smarter than she ever was before, as those on professional makeup courses will have noticed.
"Previously, she'd see an ad in the magazine and head to the department store to buy that product ... Today she comes to the counter and she's trying to figure out how one product might fit with her existing routine," she explained.
Ms Zurn went on to say that the team are noticing more women looking for beauty treatments and fast-track makeup courses in store to get a better understanding of what it this they need
Makeup school students were recently told by the LA Times of a new range called Beauty is Life by Beatrix Isabel Lie, which offers a monumental 90 eye shadow shades and 60 lipstick colours.
