Makeup school students have been told that the latest rule when it comes to beauty is that brown is the new black.
Amy Lawrenson writing for Elle UK has explained that, when it comes to creating the smoky eye look, brown is less intense and makes for a more sultry take which is great for the evening.
She added that some of the biggest names in the fashion business are sporting the new style, with Julian Macdonald opting for chestnut circled eyes offset with peach on the lips.
"Tea stained eyes at Pringle and toffee shades at Anna Sui and DKNY continued the trend for soft, sheer browns but at Alexander Wang a greasy texture and red-tinged ochre added a tougher edge," the expert stated.
Laura McCreddie, managing editor of Professional Beauty, recently told makeup school students that, while red lips are all the rage at Chanel, Twilight is still having a big influence on the makeup bag.
