Makeup school students will be grunging it up this spring Makeup school students need to find their inner grunge because this is the trend that seems to be taking over at the moment.

New York Fashion Week has seen plenty of models with dishevelled hair and smudgy, smoky eyes, with the likes of Alexander Wang and Joseph Altuzarra incorporating the style into their shows.

Celebrity makeup artist and Pearl Drops spokesperson Ariane Poole said that the look has been updated from when it was last popular in the 90s, becoming a more glamorous grunge.

The cosmetics available to makeup artists have also meant that the look is more sophisticated, according to the expert.

"When we did it the first time round, the products weren't as evolved so we practically had to create the product because the technology wasn't there," she commented.

These days makeup school students and professionals can get their hands on the likes of gel liners which prevent a build up of gunk in the corner of the eyes, Ms Poole explained.
