Makeup school tips: Avoid beauty blunders
Makeup school tips: Avoid beauty blunders Makeup school students will have spent time working on their technique to avoid some of these, but in any case, they have been warned of the top beauty blunders, which could result in a very unhappy client.

Isabel Roces, writing for the Philippine Daily Inquirer, has explained that issues such as wearing foundation that is either a shade too light or too dark, resulting in something reminiscent of a mask, can draw attention for all the wrong reasons.

"Test a foundation on your jaw line or the back of your palm. Or let your real skin shine through. After applying moisturiser, use foundation as cover-up," she told makeup school students.

Other top blunders worthy of a mention included futile attempts to cover up a spot, which, in turn, draws more attention to it, resulting in a section of skin that looks like an extremely dry patch.

Makeup school students were also told to avoid moisturiser near their client's eyes if they plan to use eyeliner, as this will only smudge.

One trend that is definitely not a blunder is toffee, caramel and honey shades, which are currently a hit both on the catwalk and the fashion press.
