Makeup workshop: Eye shadow
Makeup workshop: Eye shadow Eye shadow application techniques are something that can be tricky to master, but according to one celebrity makeup artist, there is a way of getting it right every time.

Mally Roncal has worked with the best of the best – from Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce to Mariah Carey and she offered her makeup workshop tips to Marie Claire.

She recommended starting with three colours of a similar ilk, and applying the paler of the three from the brow down to the crease and bring the medium shade up from the lashes to meet it.

The darkest shade should be applied around the lash line to give off the effect of a subtle liner.

"Finally, take a big blush brush and gently blend it all together with a couple of quick motions back and forth to get a soft overall finish," she said.

Ms Roncal suggested Dior 1-Colour Eye shadow in Green Tropic or monochromatic shades in pinks and purples are currently on-trend.
