Male grooming market set for major growth
Male grooming market set for major growth If you dream of owning your own beauty salon then you may want to plan for men to be part of your clientele as well as women, because the male grooming market is booming.

Global Industry Analysts (GIA) has predicted that the world market for men's products will exceed $33.2 billion (£22.2 billion) by 2015.

Toiletries, like bath and shower products, hair care, skin care items and deodorants, are the fastest growing category, according to GIA.

The rise of the metrosexual male is partly responsible for this trend, GIA said, so beauty salon owners may see demand from guys as well as women.

Male role models like sportsmen and film stars are also helping to boost the popularity of grooming products, the report said.

Guys like David Beckham and Zac Efron have made it acceptable for men to look after themselves and therefore more skincare products for guys are coming onto the market, according to GIA.

The report follows a similar prediction by beauty writer Zara Rabinowicz. She recently said that growing demand for male grooming products had led to more items coming onto the market.
