Makeup artists looking to ensure a flawless finish may want to follow one expert's tips and invest in a good-quality moisturiser that protects skin from the winter elements.
In an article for the Guardian, Sali Hughes described how dry skin can be a painful condition that many people suffer from.
It was noted that winter can exacerbate the issue as central heating in homes and bitterly cold temperatures wreak havoc on the face and body.
"While summer generally offers some relief, winter can be hell and demands an extra-emollient, takes-no-prisoners, mega-moisturiser to avoid stinging, chapping and dullness," Ms Hughes commented.
In order to keep skin feeling soft and supple, ladies were advised to apply products liberally before adding makeup on top.
Ms Hughes recently remarked how the best way to keep hands from becoming dry and cracked is to use special creams after washing palms and whenever they feel dehydrated.
