Moisturiser 'the key to avoiding dry winter skin'
Moisturiser 'the key to avoiding dry winter skin' Makeup artists may be interested in one specialist's advice on how to keep skin in a healthy condition throughout winter.

Dr Helen Robertshaw, expert dermatologist from expertbeauty.com, explained how cold weather combined with wind and indoor heating systems can dry out hands and faces.

In order to avoid making the situation worse, ladies were encouraged to avoid using soaps and instead use plenty of moisturiser.

It was noted this "will help" considerably and people do not have to spend a lot of money to get a good-quality product.

Dr Robertshaw stated: "If you have greasy areas on the face and dry patches, avoid the greasy areas as they do not require extra moisturiser."

Other problems areas the dermatologist commented she sees regularly in winter are dry, cracked hands and lips.

Using sunscreen all year round was recently recommended by Dr Robertshaw, who remarked how a product containing ultraviolet-A cover is still important in the colder months.
