Writing for Allure, associate editor Sophia Panych described how many women select the wrong shade of foundation for their skin tone.

To avoid making this mistake, individuals were urged to apply the makeup base in natural light.

Ms Panych commented: "Remember, your complexion changes throughout the year, so a foundation you used in September may not necessarily work in January if you get paler during the winter."

When it comes to sampling potential shades, the beauty specialist urged ladies to apply some of the product to their necks as this will provide a good match to the face.

Elsewhere, makeup artist Troy Surratt recommended using a face powder that matches skin tones rather than one with a white base as this will be very noticeable on photographs.

In a recent interview with E! Online, celebrity makeup artist Kat Connelly explained how using foundation primer is the best way to ensure looks last for a long time.ADNFCR-2992-ID-801261401-ADNFCR
