New beauty therapy treatment uses sheep placenta New weird and wonderful beauty therapy treatments are hitting the market all the time, but the latest one seems more unusual than most.

The Actostem treatment, which was devised by aesthetic surgeon Dr Roberto Viel, uses sheep placentas to cure wrinkles, the Daily Mail reported.

Ladies can try this treatment if they fork out £600 to be worked on for 30 minutes, with claims that the procedure will be effective for five months.

According to the Harley Street doctor, the treatment stimulates collagen through a protein in the placenta.

In addition, the material contains stem cells, which help other cells to rebuild, as well as fibroplasts that help the skin to become firmer.

"I couldn't believe how great I felt. It was like having 12 facials at once," said Aimee Lopez, who's tried the treatment.

At the London Centre for Aesthetic Surgery, Dr Viel's clinic, ladies can also a platelet rejuvenation treatment, which uses platelets from 30-60mls of their own blood.
