New tan chart to help women ditch the orange glow
New tan chart to help women ditch the orange glow Those in skincare workshops will be well aware of how badly tanning can go wrong if applied incorrectly or if too much is lathered on - but help is at hand - in the form of the Tan Tone Colour Chart.

Designed by Debenhams to help women and skincare workshop students alike, the chart resembles a paint colour guide and will help decipher where you or your subject falls on the tanning scale - to ensure mishaps like Cheryl Cole's and Lindsay Lohan's do not happen again.

Sara Stern, director of beauty at Debenhams, said the bronzed look is a key trend for this summer, but research has found that 70 per cent of fake tanners get it wrong - either applying too much or topping up too often.

"This one-of-a-kind chart is the first on the high street and is available in our beauty halls nationwide to encourage a healthy glow, whilst avoiding the dreaded orange," she explained.

Orange was recently tipped by the Daily Venus Diva as the 'in' shade for summer - but this one is strictly for the eyes.
