Makeup artists may want to take heed of one expert's tips on how to achieve a shimmering festive look.
Francois Nars, creative director and founder of Nars, told the Belfast Telegraph's fashionista section how the secret is to remember "less is more".
He claimed women should be "light-handed" when applying makeup as the most important feature is "quality, not quantity".
It was suggested the Christmas season is the perfect time to get creative with looks and to try out bold colours.
Ladies were encouraged to opt for metallic bronze or lavender when attempting to achieve sparkling eyes.
Meanwhile, lips painted fuchsia or bright pink were recommended as having a "strong impact" on an appearance, while making women feel empowered, elegant and chic.
