Skin care important for good makeup
Students on professional makeup courses should know that skin must be in good condition before applying cosmetics.

According to Martha Worboy, beauty expert for Canwest News Service, even celebrities such as Renee Zellweger and Cameron Diaz suffer from skin complaints, but using certain products can help lay the foundation for a good makeup look.

Ms Worboy said that cleansers, toners and moisturisers will help to prepare the skin for cosmetics by smoothing out any blemishes, acne scars or wrinkles.

She added that over-the-counter treatments exist for those with conditions such as rosacea, which makes the skin red and blotchy, while a trip to the doctors could sort out any persisting problems.

Makeup artist Troy Surrat, who has worked with Jennifer Lopez and Freida Pinto, recently told Allure that those considering enrolling in makeup school will need to invest in some good brushes to make the skin look best.
