Specialist beauty training 'a must for a successful career'
Specialist beauty training 'a must for a successful career' Undertaking beauty courses has been described as the best way to ensure a career in the industry.

Julie Speed, general manager of the British Association for Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology and of the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology, explained that employers are looking for people who have been specially trained and have a wide range of skills.

"Competition for spa jobs is fierce as they aspire to employ only the best therapists – be prepared for several interview stages and practical assessments," she stated.

It was noted individuals who have retail and customer care experience as well as beauty training are most likely to be successful.

Ms Speed also commented that there are plenty of opportunities in the spa industry overseas, for those who are willing to travel.

Her advice follows recent remarks by author of How to Get the Best Beauty Therapy Jobs Nicole Pipe, who stated that careers in the industry are ideal for those who want to fit their work around their other commitments.
