If you're a budding make up schoolstudent then you're no doubt well aware of the benefits of wearing products with SPF.
However, an expert has warned that you should not be using cosmetics with SPF as a substitute for sunscreen.
Bevis Man, of the British Skin Foundation, said that they are designed to add extra protection against UV rays, but not replace the shield that comes with sun cream.
"If the product's got it, great, it's an added little extra and you can't be too safe when it comes to these things but there's also no harm in doing the usual methods of applying sunscreen and wearing hats," he commented.
Make up with SPF is also good for moisturising the skin in the dry heat, Mr Man added.
Another product which make up schoolstudents may be interested in is BioAstin, a dietary supplement which maker Cyanotech claims reduces the negative effects of the sun by neutralising free radicals at a subcutaneous level.
