Students at make-up artistry schools have been offered advice about which sunscreen to use on clients.
Josephine Fairley and Sarah Stacey, both of Beautybible.com, wrote for the Daily Mail that it is possible to find a high protection sunscreen that will not leave clients with white skin.
They said: "The usual reason that sun preps leave that 'Mr Pastry' look is because they are based on physical screens as opposed to chemical."
The pair said that physical screens contain ground up minerals, such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
However, they said that mineral sun preparations are less likely to leave a client's face covered in a white film.
With this in mind, the beauty experts recommended that those in beauty training try Healthspan Nurture Daily Face Protector SPF30, which is easily absorbed and does not leave a film on the face.
In addition, Makeupalley.com recently rated its top sunscreens, giving Chanel UV Essential Protective UV Care Anti Pollution SPF50 the top spot.
