Women considering surgical beauty treatments have been told that if they do their research and look after themselves post-op, the results can be "fantastic".
Cosmetic procedure expert Stephen Handisides, from MyFaceMyBody.com, has explained that the benefits to women in having surgery is that it gives them a helping hand to get rid of loose skin or stubborn areas of fat they struggle to get rid of with exercise.
However following the beauty treatment, he emphasised that women still need to take care of their bodies.
"Cosmetic surgery can deliver fantastic results but it's important that patients continue to look after their health with good fitness and eating. Without that, their bodies are likely to return to a similar body shape they had before surgery," he said.
Mr Handisides went on to say that while there will be always dangers with going under the knife, if a patient does their research and goes to an approved surgeon then the risks are reduced.
A recent survey from MyFaceMyBody.com found that two out of five new mums want a post-birth surgical 'mummy makeover' to restore their bodies to its pre-pregnancy shape.
