Girls on beauty therapy courses are bound to encounter fake tanning at some point and an expert from St Tropez has shared her top tips for ensuring the finish is beautiful bronze rather than terrible tangerine.
Nichola Joss, celebrity tanning guru and a spokesperson for the brand, explained to the Daily Mail that the main problem is that people do not prepare the skin properly.
Those on beauty therapy courses should take note that exfoliating and moisturising thoroughly is absolutely essential, particularly on hands, elbows, knees, feet and the 'beard' area on the face.
"It is easiest to start with a gradual tan, which is a mixture of moisturiser with lower-levels of tanning agent," she told the newspaper.
If things go wrong, then girls on beauty therapy courses should keep in mind St Tropez's Tan Detox product, which you add to the bath and it helps to even out the skin tone.
It's not just the girls who love to be bronzed, as the male celebs on last year's Strictly Come Dancing embraced fake tan over the course of the show.
