Use primer to make candy colours even brighter
Use primer to make candy colours even brighter Budding make up school students will no doubt have picked up on the trend for pastel colours, but there are tricks of the trade to make these shades really pop.

Jean Ford, co-founder of Benefit Cosmetics, told Associated Press that prepping the eye is key to getting the most from candy colours like pinks, blues, yellows, greens and lilacs.

She recommended using the neutral primer to make the shades appear even brighter, so prospective make up school students may want to invest in this product.

Otherwise, they can use a concealer, Ms Ford told the news provider. This should be applied both around and on top of the lid.

As for the best colours to use to follow this trend, she recommended light purple and pale green, which she said are "universally" flattering and wearable.

Meanwhile, turquoise has emerged as another colour which budding make up school students may want to use, as Polly Osmond went for a liner in this shade for the models in Nanette Lepore's spring 2010 show, according to Elle.
