Women are researching the best beauty treatments
Women are researching the best beauty treatments Women are shopping around for beauty treatments, researching what is out there to find the right products and therapies for them, according to an expert.

Catherine Dean, marketing executive at health and beauty event The Vitality Show, said that the health and beauty industry has fared well during the downturn.

Attendance at The Vitality Show was on a par with 2009, when there was a 20 per cent rise on visitor numbers compared with 2008, which Ms Dean said showed the strength of the sector.

"It's a sign that women will always find the time and the money to treat themselves," she commented.

Women are choosing to spend on makeup and beauty treatments as a pick-me-up if they cannot afford to go on holiday, for example, she said.

Ms Dean added that ladies are also buying higher value makeup and products.

"People are buying the key pieces whether it's a new foundation [or] investing in a really nice massage," she explained.

The Vitality Show, a consumer event form women on health, beauty, fitness, wellbeing and healthy eating, took place at Earls Court 2 from March 18th to 21st.
