Makeup artists may receive requests to disguise dark circles under women's eyes this winter, as the season is said to increase their prominence.
According to research conducted by scientists at Adonia Organics, during the colder months of the year ladies of all ages are more susceptible to ageing rings around their eyes.
The survey found 82 per cent of individuals showed signs of dark circles in winter, compared with just 38 per cent in summer.
Anti-ageing expert Dr Mark Binette stated: "Lacking in Vitamins D and K has a considerable negative effect on the appearance of dark circles and puffy eyes and can age a woman by 4.7 years."
He added that in winter ladies are exposed to less of these nutrients, which can increase tiredness and hence the appearance of rings.
Introducing an anti-ageing routine may be something people want to consider to help combat the issue, as cosmetic doctor Rita Rakus recently claimed all females should do this while in their 20s.
